CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
 

The Day Care Center for ages 6 weeks - 5 years, After School up to 12 years of age. We provide computer technology training, art appreciation, music and recreation.  The daily curriculum consists of alpha and numeric studies.  The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, from 6:45am-6:30pm and includes breakfast, lunch and snacks.

After School

Combating the growing problems of truancy troubling the community, GOSP established a program to offer an assortment of community programs.

 
 
Summer Camp
Education and Recreation

Children up to 12 years of age.  We have computer classes, bible study, music, arts and crafts, swimming, sports and trips with a dedicated staff are some of the components of this unique camping experience.  Breakfast, lunch and snacks are also included.  Before and extended care hours are provided as needed.  Camp begins in July and operates for eight weeks.

In Touch Ministry

 

This community outreach ministy, born of the Second Macedonia Baptist Church, is designed to inspire residents of the community to disburden themselves of the many ills and problems that they encounter from day-to-day.  As they charge and involve themselves in uplifting and enriching activites spiritually, mentally and physically they can ready themselves for

 

*Studying and exploring the Bible together

*Expanding, broadening and enhancing their knowledge through study, travel, activites, workshops, art and exchanging of experiences.

*Reaching out, encouraging, supporting and comforting the lonely, the umemployed, senior citizens and those who seek help.

Positive Spirit Project
(NOT ACTIVE AT THIS TIME)
 

 

This community-based, behavioral youth project is operated by Giving of Self Partnership-Expressing Love (GOSP-EL). The project provides a spiritually enriched support environment to increase the resiliency and protective factors among youth whose severity of behavior warrants preventive and intervention behavioral health services.

 

CURRICULUM

 

This project uses the exemplary and evidenced based curriculum, Reconnecting Youth: A Peer Group Approach to Building Life Skills (RY), as the centralizing tool to enhance the targeted youth reduction of non-productive and risk behaviors.  The object of the curriculum is to increase participant's:

 

*Mood management

*Resiliency to prevent behavioral health issues

*Overall knowledge of general health issues

*School performance

*Pro-social resources

*Positive Reinforcement

 

KEY PROJECT COMPONENTS

 

*Group Work, Life-Skills Training, Monitoring, School and Parent Reinforcement

 

Booster Sessions-Post Intervention (Succeeding Six Months)

 

*Community Service Project: Youth will provide at least one hour of community service per month in their neighborhood.

 

*Mentoring: Religious institutions serve as mentors to the youth as appropriate
